Online Nursing Classes

by Christine Anderson

Nurses work closely with doctors and other health care practitioners to make sure that patients are well taken care of. Handing out prescribed medication, monitoring their medical devices, and keeping track of vital signs are some of the duties a nurse has to do. Because of their flexible schedules, nurses work fewer days but longer hours a week. Still, the job outlook for nursing graduates is optimistic and the financial benefits are rewarding.

For those who would like to have a degree in nursing but do not have time to attend classes, there are many universities that offer online nursing classes. In order to be a licensed nurse, you will need to go through two years of online nursing classes; a licensed practical nurse will need to go through more years of school, while a nurse practitioner will need a Master’s degree in nursing. The following nursing schools offer online nursing classes.

Jacksonville University
Chamberlain College of Nursing
Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences
Kent State University
Grand Canyon University
St. Joseph’s College of Maine
University of Saint Mary
