About Kent State University

Kent State University will soon celebrate its centennial and continues to be a leader in Higher Education. KSU has one of the largest regional systems in the country with eight campuses located in Northeast Ohio. Its main campus in Kent, Ohio was the site of one of this nation’s most tragic events. On May 4, 1970, four Kent State students were shot and killed and nine others injured by the Ohio National Guard during a protest against America’s invasion of Cambodia. Kent State University has set up scholarships in honor of the four deceased students and on May 4 each year, the school pauses from noon until 2pm as an official Day of Remembrance.

Kent State University offers a variety of degree, certificate, and continuing education opportunities with more than 350 courses to choose from each semester. KSU Online students may choose from traditional 15-week fall and spring semesters, 5-week summer sessions, and 3-week intercession opportunities. Students can also participate in one to four week workshops throughout the year.
