As a student who has completed prior college credits, either through Advanced Placement courses or even through a completed Associate’s degree program, there may be ability for students to transfer those already earned credits towards completing a Bachelor’s degree program.
One of the most well-known programs is the RN to BSN in Nursing program. Many nursing schools are offering the opportunity for Registered Nurses (RN’s) to earn their Nursing degrees using prior certification and life experience, which is evaluated and assigned a certain number of credits to be put towards the Bachelor’s degree.
That is just one example of many where previous licenses or professional certifications (Information Technology and so on) are awarded college credit.
